Blood Tests

General Information: Adult Blood Tests
Map to RyndThe Adult Phlebotomy (Blood Tests) Department is now located in the new Rynd Suite which is located on the ground floor of the Hospital. When you come through the main hospital entrance, walk past the information desk and turn left just after the lifts.

Walk down to the end of this long corridor. There are two check-in kiosks. Check-in to confirm your attendance for your blood test appointment. Then turn right on to corridor and take the first turn left into the Rynd Suite.

Please note that ALL blood-test attendances in TUH are by appointment only. If you are attending the Hospital for blood tests ordered by your GP or TUH Out-patient Clinic, then you must book your appointment first via SwiftQueue.

Please remember to bring the relevant request forms with you as bloods cannot be taken without them.

The Phlebotomy Department offers two types of services
- GP Referral Service
- TUH Out-Patient Clinic 

Opening Hours
- GP Referral Service 8:30am to 2:30pm; Monday to Friday
- Out-Patient Clinic Referral Service 8am to 4:45pm; Monday to Friday

Self-Register at Kiosk
When you arrive in the Hospital you need to self-register at the Kiosk outside the Rynd Suite up to 15 minutes before your appointment time. When you have checked in, please take a seat in the Rynd Suite and wait for your name to be called.

Please Note: You cannot register earlier than 30 minutes before your appointment time.

You must have a TUH request form signed by your GP to avail of this service.
- Please confirm with your GP if you are required to fast for your blood test
- You may have sips of water during your fast
- Check with your GP if you should take your medication before your blood test

Adult Out Patient Blood TestsTUH Adult Out-Patient Blood Tests Please click on the green button to make an appointment for the out-patient blood service in Tallaght University Hospital. Please note that the blood test must be booked in advance as there is no walk-in service available

  • You must have a Tallaght University Hospital request forms signed by your out-patient Clinic to avail of this service. 
  • Confirm with your Clinic if you are required to fast for your blood test
  • You may have sips of water during your fast
  • Check with your Clinic if you should take your medication before your blood test
