Dr. Aoife Garrahy graduated from NUI Galway in 2009. She completed her higher specialist training in Endocrinology, Diabetes Mellitus and General Internal Medicine with the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI), and was awarded CCST in 2019. She completed a post-CCST fellowship in Pituitary and Adrenal Endocrinology in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin before taking up a position as post-CCT fellow in Pituitary and Neuroendocrine Tumours in Oxford, UK in 2020. She took up a position as Consultant Endocrinologist in Tallaght University Hospital in 2023. Her subspecialty interests include adrenal and pituitary endocrinology, and disorders of sodium and water balance.

Achievements

  • Awarded MD from Royal College of Surgeons Ireland 2020.
  • Local and international research collaborations in the areas of hyponatraemia and disorders of salt and water balance, published extensively in peer-reviewed international journals, including over 30 publications as first or senior author.
