Dr. Seán O’Dowd is a Consultant Neurologist at Tallaght University Hospital. He completed specialist training in Neurology in Dublin, including a Research Fellowship and MD in Neurodegeneration at UCD. In 2015, he was awarded the HSE Dr Richard Steevens’ Scholarship to gain further subspecialty experience in neurodegenerative disorders, and disorders of sleep, in Newcastle upon Tyne. Following this, he worked as an NHS Consultant at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and as an Honorary Consultant at the Cambridge Memory Clinic at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. His subspecialty interests include neurodegenerative disorders including young- and later-onset dementias, Parkinson’s disease and atypical parkinsonian disorders, as well as neurological sleep disorders. Dr. O’Dowd has published a number of papers and book chapters in the field of neurodegenerative disorders and continues to be involved in a number of research projects with Newcastle University.
